NO. 38 Katy Perry

Men are simple creatures -- drop hints that you might have made out with a girl and guys will line up to buy whatever you’re selling. Katy Perry found this out after releasing her album, One of the Boys, early in 2008. Her song “I Kissed a Girl” became a hit and thrust this sultry singer into the spotlight. The intrigue around her sexuality, coupled with her rather unique fashion sense, make her one of the most interesting girls on this list. She’s got sass, personality and isn’t afraid to speak her mind -- add in the No. 1 hit and you’ve got one up-and-coming superstar.
NO. 37 Layla Kayleigh

After making her debut on this list last year, Layla Kayleigh has started popping up on a number of like-minded compilations, with E! ranking her alongside Olivia Munn and Vida Guerra as one of the 20 Hottest Women of the Web. She remains best known for her on-camera duties on Attack of the Show! and America’s Best Dance Crew, yet Layla Kayleigh has remained exceedingly busy with a variety of other endeavors including a new gig as cohost of the World Poker Tour. She also made her acting debut earlier this year with a starring role in the drama A Simple Promise, which suggests that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Layla Kayleigh in the future.
NO. 36 Summer Glau

Summer Glau’s ability to crawl into the skin of wholly unusual characters has made her a favorite within the sci-fi community, and her unexpectedly layered take on a killing machine in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles caught the attention of a legion of new fans. Cast alongside beauties like Lena Headey and Shirley Manson, Summer Glau has, with seemingly little effort, managed to establish herself as a sex symbol for the sci-fi crowd. Her stellar work on the series recently won her a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Television Actress, and although she had to share the prize with Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell, this win placed her ahead of such small-screen hotties as Jennifer Carpenter and Hayden Panettiere

NO. 35 Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera continues to impress us with her unshakable work ethic; she’s certainly gone to great lengths to ensure that she’s never thought of as just another bubble-headed beauty. Her calculating business sense -- this is, after all, the same person who successfully landed $1.5 million for the first photos of her newborn child -- has secured her place as one of pop music’s most successful figures, with Forbes ranking her against the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Gisele Bundchen as the 19th richest woman in entertainment. And with a new album on the way that she calls “short and sweet,” Christina Aguilera is certainly in no danger of leaving the public’s consciousness anytime soon.
No. 34 Bar Refaeli

Bar Refaeli’s obvious ambition has generally been matched by her desire to try other things, and her desire to be known for more than her modeling prowess certainly sets her apart from her fashion-industry brethren. Though she landed plenty of high-profile gigs in 2008 -- including a stint for P. Diddy’s new cologne “I Am King”-- Bar Refaeli was also featured in the '09 SI Swimsuit Issue. She even managed to branch out in unusual yet respectable directions. In addition to appearing in a campaign designed to reduce the use of plastic bags in Israel (in which she worked for free), Bar Refaeli also made her cinematic debut by taking on a starring role in an upcoming 2009 thriller entitled Session.

NO. 32 Misa Campo

Misa Campo keeps herself busy on the modeling scene, ensuring that she remains at the forefront of both the fashion industry and the magazine world. It’s interesting to note, however, that she hasn’t taken any steps toward an acting career, despite the fact that she clearly possesses the looks and presence to tackle any number of roles.

However, as long as she’s willing to keep posing in skimpy outfits, we can see no reason to complain about her career trajectory. She’s got plenty of time to try other things, anyway: though it seems like she’s been around forever, Misa Campo only turned 21 this past month.
